Despite my love affair with shimmer, I often find myself swapping my most sparkly clothing with something more demure for daytime. But the festive season is more forgiving than most when it comes to fashion (reindeer jumpers, anyone? Snowman earrings? Tinsel worn as a necklace?), so now's the perfect time to get your Joan Collins on. Take a look at my tips for wearing sequins during the day...
Zara skirt, H&M top, F21 necklace, Bertie boots, Michael Kors watch
- Choose simple separates - a cotton top, wool jumper or fitted cardigan will soften the sparkle
- Keep accessories to a minimum - don't overload the look with excessive bling
- Go for chunky heels or flat pumps - anything too delicate will give your outfit an evening edge
- Mix your sequins with denim or 120 deniers, depending on the format!

That skirt is stunning, love what you've done with it.... still don't think I could pull something like that off during the day! Might as well though otherwise amazing items like that barely get worn!

That skirt is absolutely gorgeous I love! It looks so good teamed with the plain top and the statement necklace-I've seen a pair of sequin shorts in H&M that I'm tempted to buy and style for during the day!
