I'm languishing on my sick bed today, so in an attempt to cheer myself I put on a pretty face. Sadly it didn't work and I'm still feeling sorry for myself, but I managed to snap some photos. Always the pro.
This is the makeup I wear day in, day out. I like to switch up my lipstick (sometimes it's a Topshop Rio Rio day - amirite?) and swap brown for black in the eyeshadow department, but I'm a creature of habit.
I love big specs (like these Orla Kiely ones) so I try to balance them out with soft makeup. A light, matte base (here I'm wearing Nearly Nude by Revlon which I LOVE) teamed with pink cheeks (Topshop's Flushed), smoky eyes (courtesy of the Naked 2 palette and a YEARS old Barry M kohl pencil) and a pop of lip colour - Topshop's Ooh La La.
A fresh, simple everyday look means I can wear the boldest of frames without fear of looking too... 'too'. What do you think - how do you balance your glasses with your makeup?
You look really pretty! :D

I must pick up the Nearly Naked foundation! I don't really think about balancing my glasses and makeup- I guess because I'm constantly taking them off and putting them back on again! x

You look so fresh faced and lovely Jen!
ReplyDeleteI need my glasses for using the computer so I'm usually in them between 9-5 everyday and find mascara a bloomin nightmare with my glasses. Which do you use?

I need glasses full time, and I always experiment with my eye make up - depending on the frame.
ReplyDeleteI don't really let my glasses determine my make up though, just go for what I fancy :)
Great tips :)

I love the lip colour on you. When I wear my glasses I tend to tone down my eye make up and just go for a simple and light eyeshadow and a bit of mascara then go for a bold lip colour. If I'm wearing my contacts I love a smokey eye xx
